Zusammenfassung
Orofaziale Gesichtsfehlbildungen gehören zu den häufigsten angeborenen Krankheitsbildern,
die eines interdisziplinären Behandlungskonzeptes und operativer Therapie bedürfen.
Unabdingbar hierfür ist eine klinisch relevante Einteilung. Beginnend mit der rein
deskriptiven Klassifikation im 19. Jahrhundert, berücksichtigt eine ideale Einteilung
Ätiologie, Lokalisation und Ausprägung. Im Folgenden werden zunächst gängige Klassifikationen
genannt und Ätiologie, sowie Epidemiologie der orofazialen Gesichtsfehlbildungen diskutiert.
Abstract
Orofacial deformities are amongst the most frequent congenital diseases with the need
for an interdisciplinary treatment protocol and surgical approach. For adequate therapy
a clinically relevant classification is necessary. Starting in the early 19th century, descriptive classifications have been published. But ideally, a classification
should also include etiology, localisation and extent. Here we first mention the common
classifications and then discuss the etiology and epidemiology of orofacial deformities.
