Publication History
Publication Date:

Abstract
This article outlines a series of group activities designed to enhance the music listening experiences of adults with cochlear implants. The programs include the use of music focus groups designed to provide positive experiences and support for adults who regard the sound of music with their cochlear implants as being disappointing or unpleasant. These programs provide the opportunity to hear music in a controlled and supportive environment. The content of the sessions is outlined, and suggestions are provided that clinicians can implement in their own settings. The article also provides information on live music concerts for adults with cochlear implants. These include details of two musical works that were specially composed for cochlear implant listeners.
