Silver-Catalyzed Preparation of Oxazolines from N-Propargylamides

The authors were recently informed that entry 11 of Table 1 to give product 2 does not work as reported. They have addressed this issue and agree with that conclusion.

Further studies show that the reaction is rather capricious. For example, in the best case, the results shown below were obtained. However, an attempt to reproduce the reaction by the same student under the same reaction conditions with the same materials gave only the oxazole 3 in 48% yield.

The authors can only speculate as to the reasons for the error in the initial report and apologize.
