Herpes-simplex-Infektionen zählen zu den nicht meldepflichtigen sexuell übertragbaren Infektionen. Ihr Vorkommen ist von äußeren (z. B. Sexualverhalten, Drogenmissbrauch, bakterielle Vaginose) und endogenen (z. B. Ethnie, Alter, Immunologie) Faktoren beeinflusst [1].
