The fourth monothematic symposium, this time focusing on IBD & small bowel diseases, was a great success.

“The ESGE Quality in Endoscopy concept is exceptional; the atmosphere was buzzing and we have received extremely positive resonance from all concerned” said Klaus Mönkemüller, ESGE Co-Chair.

Leaders, alongside young rising stars, gathered together to deliberate with participants the most pressing and timely topics in the field of IBD and small bowel diseases. Interactive talks, case presentations and debates with voting set the stage. In addition to abstract submission, this series of meetings also sends a call for case presentations and those selected were presented by the authors together with the faculty. Successful candidates were from Russia, Portugal, The United States, UK, Belgium, Croatia and Montenegro.

As in the three previously held Quality in Endoscopy symposia, the concept of the meeting, aiming at offering two days of exchange, uninhibited discussions in a conducive environment was much appreciated. Last but not least, a beautiful venue and networking events provided the platform for coming together and develop further ways of collaboration in the world of gastrointestinal endoscopy.

Looking forward to meeting you again at future ESGE Quality in Endoscopy symposia in 2014!
