Epigenomanalyse der NAWM bei MS

Als Epigenetik bezeichnet man biochemische Modifikationen der DNS (z. B. Methylierung) oder der nukleären Proteine (z. B. Histon-Azetylierung), die die Transkriptionsaktivität der betreffenden Gene längerfristig beeinflussen. Am bekanntesten ist in diesem Zusammenhang das lebenslange Imprinting von der Mutter bzw. vom Vater ererbter Allele. Epigenetik stellt aber auch einen Mechanismus dar, der die Gen-Umwelt-Interaktion vermitteln kann.
