Zusammenfassung
Menschen mit Migrationshintergrund, Asylbewerber sowie beruflich und touristisch Reisende
beanspruchen vermehrt die kurative tropenmedizinische Versorgung und eine fundierte
präventive Reisemedizin. Ziel dieser Studie war eine Bestandsaufnahme der ambulanten
tropenmedizinischen Versorgung durch niedergelassene Tropenmediziner in Deutschland.
An der anonymen schriftlichen Befragung nahmen 51 niedergelassene Tropenmediziner
von Oktober bis Dezember 2014 teil. Die Autorinnen kommen zu dem Fazit, dass vor dem
Hintergrund zunehmender Zuwanderung beziehungsweise fortschreitender Globalisierungsprozesse
und der Überalterung niedergelassener Tropenmediziner nur durch intensive Nachwuchsförderung
in der Zukunft die tropenmedizinische Versorgung in Deutschland in der Fläche gewährleistet
werden kann. Wichtig ist auch die Stärkung der Kenntnisse von Tropen-/Reisekrankheiten
in der Ärzteschaft insbesondere reisemedizinisch tätiger Hausärzte und deren Vernetzung
mit tropenmedizinischen Praxen und Klinikambulanzen sowie eine adäquate Vergütung.
Summary
People with migration background, asylum seekers and travelers need good care in tropical
medicine and preventive travel medicine. The goal of this study was to perform a survey
of the tropical medicine outpatient care by specialized physicians in private practice
in Germany other than outpatient departments in hospitals, mostly located in university
hospitals. 51 physicians returned the questionnaire between October and December 2014.
The authors conclude that in anticipation of the expected increasing immigration into
Germany as well as a further continuing globalization process together with the ageing
of tropical medicine physicians outpatient tropical medicine care can be only sustained
throughout the country by intensive promotion of young colleagues and by an adequate
remuneration in order to make this specialization more attractive outside of the walls
of tropical medicine research institutions.
