Summary

In contrast to adult patients, little is known about the pathogenesis of chronic spontaneous urticaria, defined as symptoms longer than 6 weeks, in children. Therefore, most therapeutic recommendations in children are based on data from adult patients. This summary will try to analyze the existing data on chronic spontaneous urticaria in children. Major diagnostic steps will be explained, and a flow chart of therapeutic decisions will be proposed.
