The outcome of endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) for lesions involving the ileocecal valve is largely unknown. This study, which is the largest on the topic to date, compares ESD of 38 lesions involving the ileocecal valve with 132 lesions without involvement. The en bloc resection rate was similar, but procedure time was significantly longer in lesions involving the ileocecal valve. There were no cases of luminal stenosis or tumor recurrence.
