I want to thank Drs. Kadakia and Wimalawansa, for serving as co-guest editors for this issue of Seminars in Plastic Surgery on “Complications in Head and Neck Reconstruction.” We also appreciate the efforts made by each outstanding authors they have invited to contribute to this issue.

Dr. Sameep Kadakia graduated from Drexel University College of Medicine in Pennsylvania after which he went on to complete a residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai. Pursuing his interest in both reconstructive surgery and advanced head and neck oncology, Dr. Kadakia completed a combined fellowship in Head & Neck Surgical Oncology and Facial Plastic & Microvascular Reconstruction at Baylor All Saints Medical Center in Texas under the mentorship of Dr. Yadranko Ducic.

Dr. Kadakia specializes in the surgical treatment of advanced head and neck cancer, regional and microvascular reconstruction, maxillofacial trauma, Mohs reconstruction, and skull base surgery. He currently practices in Dayton, Ohio and is part of the Plastic Surgery Department and General Surgery Department at Wright State University. He has published more than 90 articles in scientific journals and serves as a reviewer for multiple prestigious journals. He currently serves as the director of Premier Health's Head and Neck Oncology and Reconstructive Surgery Program.

Dr. Sunishka Wimalawansa graduated from Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas, and received a MBA from Rice University, Jones Graduate School of Management, Houston, Texas, after which he went on to complete a plastic surgery residency at Wright State University, Boonshoft School of Medicine, Dayton, Ohio. Pursuing his interest in upper extremity and microsurgery, Dr. Wimalawansa completed a fellowship in Hand and Microsurgery at Christine M. Kleinert Institute for Hand and Microsurgery, University of Louisville, Louisville, Kentucky.

Dr. Wimalawansa specializes in hand and upper extremity surgery, peripheral nerve surgery, aesthetic surgery, and microsurgical reconstruction of the head and neck, extremities, and breast. He also currently practices in Dayton, Ohio, and is part of the Plastic Surgery and Orthopedic Surgery Departments at Wright State University.
