Zusammenfassung
Endoprotheseninfektionen stellen sowohl eine deutliche Bedrohung für den Patienten
als auch eine besondere Herausforderung für den behandelnden Arzt sowie für das Gesundheitssystem
dar. Der Früh- oder Spätinfekt wird als entzündlicher Prozess in Verbindung mit einer
Endoprothese, verursacht durch Mikroorganismen, definiert. Der vorliegende Übersichtsartikel
gibt einen Überblick zur den diagnostischen und therapeutischen Fortschritten bei
der periprothetischen Spätinfektion.
Abstract
Periprosthetic infections place a substantial burden on the patient, treating physician
and the health care system as a whole. It is generally accepted that early and late
infection in association with an endoprosthesis is an inflammatory process caused
by infectious organisms. This review summarizes recent advances in diagnostic and
therapeutic strategies covering late periprosthetic infections.
