Etablierung eines präoperativen Anämiemanagements

Eine entscheidende Säule zur Verbesserung des Behandlungsergebnisses

Zusammenfassung

Rund 30 % aller Patienten leiden an einer präoperativen Anämie, die einen relevanten Risikofaktor für erforderliche Transfusionen, verlängerte Hospitalisierung, gesteigerte Morbidität und Sterblichkeit darstellt. Die Mortalität während des Krankenhausaufenthalts kann bei Patienten mit mittlerer präoperativer Anämie um das Doppelte erhöht sein. Zudem sind intensivpflichtige Zeit und Krankenhausverweildauer deutlich länger. Die Etablierung eines präoperativen Anämiemanagements im Rahmen des Patient Blood Management ist daher eine entscheidende Säule zur Verbesserung des Behandlungsergebnisses und der Patientensicherheit und kann gleichzeitig die Kosten für das Gesundheitswesen signifikant reduzieren.
