The presentation discusses the basics of esophageal cancer, including the two main types: esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and esophageal adenocarcinoma. It highlights the importance of early detection and treatment for improving patient outcomes. The presentation also focuses on endoscopic management, which has become increasingly important in the diagnosis, treatment, and palliation of esophageal cancer. Endoscopic management includes endoscopic resection, endoscopic ablation, and palliative management. Enhanced diagnostic modalities can help detect precursor lesions and improve the success of ablation therapies [1] [2] [3] [4] [5].

A documentary review and a case study were carried out in November and December 24 at the Diagnostic Centre Bled.

A case study of treatment of a patient with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma is presented.

In conclusion, endoscopic management of esophageal cancer has evolved to include a therapeutic role in addition to diagnosis. A combination of endoscopic resection and ablation can improve patient outcomes and provide minimally-invasive treatment options for early-stage esophageal cancer. Also included is a case report of a patient with histologically proven gastric cancer and squamous cell carcinoma of the esophagus.
