Gallstone ileus diagnosed during digestive endoscopy: a case report
Authors
Abstract Text Gallstone ileus is a rare condition resulting from the migration of a gallstone through a bilio-digestive fistula. We report the case of a 73 y.o man with a history of unoperated vesicular lithiasis. He presented with intense epigastric pain with vomiting and clinical signs of dehydratation. After intra venous rehydratation, an eso-gastro-duodenoscopy (EGD) was performed and found a fistulous orifice in the bulb with a stone emerging through it, suggesting a bilio-digestive fistula. A non-injected CT scan confirmed jejunal obstruction. The patient was referred to the operating room and underwent stone extraction and duodenal suture closure. Outcome was favorable [1] [2] [3].
