Successful Eus Guided Coiling and Glue Injection of a Bleeding Rectal Varix. First Case From The Middle East
Abstract Text .A 51 year old lady with alcohol related CLD with portal Hypertention presented with severe rectal variceal bleeding x 3 days.After initial resuscitation, colonoscopy was performed which showed a large rectal varix with recent bleeding in the rectum and sigmoid colon.In view of extensive experience of EUS Guided coiling and glue injection in Gastric varices, was decided to apply the same modality in this case also.The procedure was performed successfully using 2 coils(3cmsx 3mm,0.035) and 2 ml glue with a 19 G EUS FNA needle.The patient responded well without any further bleed and was discharged after 5 days. She has been doing well at 3 months [1] [2].
