We report a general cerium-mediated procedure that allows the conjugate addition of a difluoromethylenephosphonate carbanion to a range of nitroalkenes derived from non-aromatic aldehydes.

Difluorophosphonate - conjugate addition - organocerium reagent - nitroalkene
