N-Allylanilines undergo 3-aza-Cope rearrangement in the presence of Zn²⁺ montmorillonite under microwave irradiation in the absence of solvent to afford indoline derivatives in high yields. Similarly arylallyl thioethers are rearranged to dihydrobenzothiophenes.
