Introduction

The minimally invasive approach has become the standard of surgical care for numerous disease processes. In addition, refinements and advances in minimally invasive surgery are evolving more rapidly than ever. The growing experience of the laparoscopic surgeon and continued technical improvements are pushing the frontier of minimally invasive surgery ever forward. This review highlights the current aspects of endoscopic and laparoscopic surgery in 2001-2002 in relation to esophageal, gastric, adrenal, and pancreatic disease.
