Verletzungsschutz beim Motorradfahrer

Zusammenfassung

Trotz rückläufiger Unfallzahlen im Straßenverkehr steigt die Anzahl von Motorradfahrern, die bei einem Unfall getötet oder schwer verletzt werden. Ziel dieses Artikels war, anhand des Verletzungsmusters im Halsbereich Möglichkeiten eines Unfallschutzes aufzuzeigen. Biodynamisch sind die starke Beugung, Streckung und Kompression der Halswirbelsäule gefährlich, während die Rotation und Seitwärtsbeugung weniger problematisch erscheint. Ein Helmairbag, der als schürzenförmige Stütze bei einem Unfall vom Helm ausgehend aufgeblasen wird, könnte ein gangbarer Weg zwischen maximaler Schutzfunktion und Akzeptanz durch den Motorradfahrer sein.

Der Autor geht davon aus, dass mit einer optimierten Sicherheitsausrüstung einigen Motorradfahrern bei einem Unfall schwere Halswirbelsäulenschäden und Thoraxtraumen erspart bleiben könnten.

Summary

In spite the entire number of traffic accidents is descending, the number of motorcycle accidents is rising. By pointing out the injury current of the neck this article demonstrates a way of protection: An airbag, inflated on the underedge of the helmet could be the golden mean between maximal protection and acceptance of the motorcycle driver. So some severe injuries of the neck could be prevented.
