Zusammenfassung

Der Arzneimittelumsatz der GKV ist 2004 gegenüber 2003 um 10,2 % auf 21,7 Mrd. ? gesunken. Dazu trugen die Psychopharmaka (denen - abweichend vom Report - hier nicht nur Neuroleptika, Lithium, Antidepressiva und Anxiolytika zugeordnet werden, sondern auch Hypnotika und Antidementiva) einen steigenden Anteil von inzwischen 8,1 % bei, womit sie Rang 2 der häufigst verordneten Arzneimittelgruppen einnehmen. Im Mittel sind die verordneten Tagesdosen je Arzt gegenüber 2003 um 16 % zurückgegangen. Der Rückgang der Verordnungen ist i.w. auf den weitgehenden Ausschluss nicht-verschreibungspflichtiger Arzneimittel durch den Gesetzgeber (mit vom Gemeinsamen Bundesausschuss definierten Ausnahmen) zurückzuführen. Der bei den Nervenärzten mit nur 7 % geringere Verordnungsrückgang erklärt sich aus dem hier ohnehin schon unterdurchschnittlichen Anteil nicht-verschreibungspflichtiger Arzneimittel.
