Congress Abstract

These authors reported their experience with free anterolateral thigh flap phalloplasty. Since 2003, 15 phalloplasties were performed in their center with this new technique in female-to-male sex reassignments. Results obtained have been very encouraging. The shape and consistency of the neo-phallus are suitable, the flap can be sensate, an erectile prosthesis can be easily implanted, and penile urethral reconstruction is possible in the same operative stage. Patient satisfaction is high. Donor-site morbidity is very low and the donor-site scar remains hidden while the patient is wearing summer clothes.
