A 58-year-old female patient with several concrements in the gallbladder submitted
herself to pump-controlled percutaneous transhepatic chemolitholysis with methyl-tert-butyl-ether
(MTBE). Shortly before the treatment terminated a calcified residual concrement caused
an acute blockage of the cystic duct. After opening the puncture track with a bougie,
followed by endoscopic lithotripsy, the cystic duct was made passable again.
