Summary

We report on a 24-year old female patient with cervix carcinoma. Local radiation as well as chemotherapy with ifosfamide and carboplatin had been applied after Wertheim-Meigs operation. At the end of the third chemotherapy cycle a transient psychosis with confusion and hallucination occurred, which in our opinion was related to ifosfamide. High serumcreatinin concentration, presence of pelvic diseases, fast infusion times and low serum albumin concentrations are discussed as risk factors for a transient encephalopathy under ifosfamide.

Zusammenfassung

Wir berichten über eine 24jährige Patientin mit einem Zervixkarzinom bei Zustand nach Wertheim-Meigs-Operation, Radiatio und Chemotherapie (Carboplatin, Ifosfamid). Sie entwickelte nach Gabe des 3. Zyklus eine passagere psychiatrische Symptomatik, die wir auf Ifosfamid zurückführten. Als Risikofaktoren für das gehäufte Auftreten passagerer Enzephalopathien unter Ifosfamidtherapie werden Nierenfunktionsstörungen, erniedrigtes Serumalbumin und zu schnelle Infusionszeiten diskutiert.
