Summary
Eighteen patients with drug resistant epilepsies were treated with vigabatrin as add-on
medication. The observation period during vigabatrin treatment lasted from one to
three months. Seizure frequency was reduced to 50% or more in the majority of patients
with generalized tonic-clonic and complex partial seizures. In one patient the efficacy
of the combination of vigabatrin and lamotrigine was impressive.
Zusammenfassung
18 Patienten mit pharmakoresistenter Epilepsie erhielten Vigabatrin als add-on-Behandlung.
Die Therapiedauer betrug ein bis drei Monate. Bei der Mehrzahl der Patienten mit generalisierten
tonisch-klonischen und komplexfokalen Anfällen kam es zu einem Rückgang der Anfallshäufigkeit
um 50 % oder mehr. In einem Einzelfall erwies sich die Kombination von Vigabatrin
und Lamotrigin als besonders wirkungsvoll.
