Es wird über die Anwendungsmöglichkeit der intraluminalen Ballonokklusion, bei gleichzeitiger EEG-Registrierung berichtet. Die Frage der operativen Unterbindungsmöglichkeit der A. carotis interna bei intrakraniellen Prozessen, sowie bei Tumoren mit Ummauerung der A. carotis interna im Halsbereich kann mit dieser Methode meist zufriedenstellend vorgeklärt werden.

Summary

The indications for the arterial balloon occlusion test with simultaneous EEG registration are discussed. The outcome with or without neurological deficit following definite occlusion of the internal carotid artery in patients with intracranial diseases and neoplasms of the neck infiltrating the internal carotid artery can be satisfactorily predicted in most cases.
