Zusammenfassung

Vorkommen, klinisches Bild und Einteilung des Myoklonus werden beschrieben. Es wird eine neuropathophysiologische und pharmakologische Charakterisierung sowie eine Abgrenzung von anderen abnorm-unwillkürlichen Bewegungen versucht. Eine rational begründete Pharmakotherapie wird dargestellt.

Summary

Incidence, clinical picture, and classification of myoclonus are described. Neuropathophysiological and pharmacological characteristics and criteria of differentiating myoclonus from other involuntary movements are presented, as well as ways of treatment based on our knowledge of the pathophysiology of this disorder.
