EAES (European Association for Endoscopic Surgery) and ESGE are again joining forces to hold the 2nd EURO-NOTES workshop. This year the meeting will be hosted in Brussels, Belgium, from September 25 to 27, 2008.

After the first successful meeting, EURO-NOTES 2007, which was held in Gothenburg last year, the EURO-NOTES 2008 workshop is again designed to gather experts in laparoscopic surgery and interventional endoscopists engaged in NOTES research and clinical practice. Together with representatives of the biomedical industry, the aims of the conference are to discuss the state of the art of NOTES practice and development in Europe.

The format of the meeting is once again that of a working congress with focus on intensive scientific dialogue and interaction between the participants. Again emphasising on teamwork, related to the daily clinical experience, the organizing committee greatly encourages participation in “teams” of minimally invasive surgeons and interventional gastroenterologists. To encourage the team aspect, a reduced fee is offered to persons registering as a team. The meeting will open on Thursday afternoon, September 25, 2008, with working groups and will continue on the Friday with lectures and free paper sessions. The workshop will end on Saturday noon, September 27, 2008 with a farewell lunch.
