Abstract

Subacute combined degeneration of spinal cord is a rare neurological manifestation of vitamin B12 deficiency due to inadequate dietary intake in children. We report a case of 4.5-year-old girl who was vegan with developmental regression, hyperpigmentation over extremities and features of subacute combined degeneration of spinal cord, a rarity in children. Laboratory investigations and neuroimaging were confirmatory. She responded well to treatment and she is having no complaints at present.
