Nichtübertragbare chronische Erkrankungen sind im Erwachsenenalter stark verbreitet
und haben ihren Ursprung oft bereits im Kindesalter. Bewegungsmangel, eine unausgewogene
Ernährung und andere Lebensstilfaktoren spielen dabei eine wichtige Rolle. Frühzeitige
Prävention und die Berücksichtigung gesellschaftlicher und umweltbezogener Ursachen
sind notwendig, um die Krankheitsfolgen für die Betroffenen und die Gesellschaft zu
reduzieren.
Abstract
Primordial prevention targets the healthy population. It aims at supporting people
in developing and maintaining a healthy lifestyle to minimize the development of risk
factors for noncommunicable diseases. Childhood offers special starting points and
opportunities for this. Essentially for this is the creation of health-promoting conditions.
This requires the participation of medical and non-medical professionals. Community
organizing can significantly foster this process of interdisciplinary and setting-related
work. Primordial prevention in childhood cannot be achieved without the active participation
of pediatricians.
