Zusammenfassung

Vorstellung des Bundesselbsthilfeverbandes für Osteoporose e. V. (BfO) als größte Patientenorganisation zum Krankheitsbild Osteoporose weltweit mit 15000 Patienten. Der BfO vertritt die Interessen der Betroffenen in der Öffentlichkeit und setzt sich für die Verbesserung der Versorgungssituation der Osteoporose-Patienten ein. Als originäre ehrenamtlich geführte Selbsthilfeorganisation ist der BfO dem Prinzip der gegenseitigen Unterstützung von Personen gleicher Betroffenheit verpflichtet. Neben psychosozialer Unterstützung und praktischer Lebenshilfe bietet der Verband qualitätsgesicherte Osteoporose-Gymnastik (Funktionstraining) an, die von der GKV finanziell gefördert wird. Wissenschaftliche Untersuchungen haben gezeigt, dass die Mitgliedschaft in einer Selbsthilfegruppe und die regelmäßige Teilnahme an den angebotenen Bewegungsprogrammen einen positiven Einfluss auf den Therapieverlauf haben.

Abstract

Presentation of Bundesselbsthilfeverband für Osteoporose e. V. (BfO) as the largest self-help organisation for the clinical picture of osteoporosis in the world with nearly 15.000 patients. BfO represents the public interests of the affected persons and work for an improvement in medical supply of the osteoporosis patients. As a non-profit organisation, the BfO is committed to the principle of mutual support for people who are equally affected. BfO offers psycho-social support, practical help in life and organises quality-assured osteoporosis gymnastics, called Funktionstraining, which is financially supported by the health-insurance companies. Scientific reserach has shown, that membership in a self-help organisation and regular participation in the exercise programs may have positive influence on the course of therapy.
