Endoprothesenregister Deutschland (EPRD)
Stellenwert in Deutschland und international – was können wir lernen, was nicht?Bis 2010 fehlte eine systematische Erfassung der Implantationen von Hüft- und Knieendoprothesen in Deutschland. Durch Gründung und Aufbau des Endoprothesenregisters Deutschland (EPRD) kann zusammen mit den Mitgliedern aus Industrie und den Krankenkassen eine effiziente Aufarbeitung und Analyse der Daten gewährleistet werden. Im Gegensatz zum freiwilligen EPRD wird im geplanten Implantateregister Deutschland (IRD) die Erfassung von Implantationen im IRD für alle Beteiligten verpflichtend werden.

Vor 2010 fand in Deutschland keine systematische Erfassung der Implantationen von Hüft- und Knieendoprothesen statt, wohingegen in Skandinavien die ersten Prothesenregister bereits vor über 40 Jahren eingeführt wurden. Ende des Jahres 2012 ging das Endoprothesenregister Deutschland (EPRD) an den Start.

Trotz Freiwilligkeit der Teilnahme konnte das EPRD die deutschlandweite Abdeckung in den letzten Jahren kontinuierlich steigern.

Alle Revisionen werden im EPRD erfasst.

Auch die Implantateigenschaften sind in der Produktdatenbank des EPRD erfasst.

Die Erfahrung der Krankenhäuser spielt hinsichtlich des Patienten-Outcomes – insbesondere der Revisionswahrscheinlichkeit – eine große Rolle.

2019 hat der Deutsche Bundestag beschlossen, ein Implantateregister Deutschland (IRD) zu errichten, bei dem die Erfassung von Implantationen für alle Beteiligten verpflichtend sein wird; avisierter Start (Stand heute): 01.01.2025.
