Blutegeltherapie bei venösem Lappenstau in gestielten Fernlappenplastiken im Kopf- und Halsbereich

Die Verwendung gestielter Fernlappenplastiken zur Deckung komplexer Defekte im Kopf- und Halsbereich stellt eine etablierte und zuverlässige Methode dar. Dennoch kommt es nicht selten zum Lappenverlust aufgrund venöser Blutstauung. Bisher wurden verschiedene Methoden und Ansätze zur Behandlung dieser Komplikation beschrieben. Im vorliegenden Beitrag stellen wir die Therapie mit Blutegeln (Hirudo medicinalis; Hirudotherapie) als eine mögliche Behandlungsstrategie vor.
