Aimen Farooq et al. Prospective analysis of endoscopic measurement of pyloric impedance planimetry and its association with clinical outcomes of gastric peroral endoscopic myotomy

The role of the functional luminal imaging probe (FLIP) in predicting clinical response to gastric peroral endoscopic myotomy (G-POEM) was investigated in a prospective trial. Clinical response was achieved in 64 of 90 patients (71.1%) at 6-month (median) follow-up. Mean distensibility index increased significantly in both responders and non-responders after G-POEM, but remained persistently elevated only among responders at 6 months. These promising results require additional studies to optimize and standardize FLIP protocols in G-POEM.
