Taishi Okumura et al. Long-term impact of computer-aided adenoma detection: a prospective observational study

The effect of computer-aided detection (CADe) on the adenoma detection rate (ADR) of 53 endoscopists performing 4712 colonoscopies was assessed over a 3-year period in this non-randomized pragmatic study. Colonoscopies were done either with or without CADe in propensity score-matched patients. Both high and low detectors (prior ADRs ≥25% and <25%, respectively) achieved higher ADRs when using CADe. For the non-CADe procedures, high detectors continued to improve their ADR, whereas low detectors showed no significant change. After CADe implementation, detection rates in procedures without CADe were at least maintained among all endoscopists and did not decline.
