Eifersucht in Liebesbeziehungen[1]

Überblick:

Der Autor beschreibt zunächst wesentliche Merkmale der Eifersucht in Liebesbeziehungen, grenzt diese gegenüber ähnlichen psychischen Phänomenen ab und stellt Aufbau und Arbeitsweise der ihr zugrunde liegenden Mechanismen dar. Diese Beschreibung wird geleitet von (a) grundsätzlichen evolutionspsychologischen Überlegungen zur Funktion von Emotionen und (b) zwei konzeptuell bedeutsamen Unterscheidungen bezüglich Eifersucht in Liebesbeziehungen. Die erste Unterscheidung betrifft die Frage, ob die Untreue des Partners lediglich vermutet wird oder bereits mit Gewissheit eingetreten ist. Diese beiden Varianten der Eifersucht werden als Verdachtseifersucht beziehungsweise als „fait accompli“-Eifersucht bezeichnet. Die zweite Unterscheidung bezieht sich auf die Art der Untreue und ihre Implikationen für den Reproduktionserfolg von Frauen und Männern. Einer evolutionspsychologischen Sichtweise der Eifersucht in Liebesbeziehungen zu Folge bedroht die sexuelle Untreue den Reproduktionserfolg der Männer stärker als den der Frauen. Umgekehrt wird der weibliche mehr als der männliche Reproduktionserfolg von emotionaler Untreue gefährdet. Vorschläge für zukünftige Eifersuchtsforschung beenden diesen Beitrag.
