Zusammenfassung

Die Erfahrung des Autors zeigt, dass Diabetiker häufig einen Mangel an essenziellen Nährstoffen aufweisen. V. a. betroffen sind Chrom, Magnesium, Zink sowie Vitamin D. Diese Stoffe sind alle an der Blutzuckerregulation beteiligt. Mittlerweile gibt es eine recht gute Studienlage, die einen Nutzen dieser Nährstoffe bei Diabetes nahelegen. Besonders bei Auftreten eines Diabetes, ggf. sogar schon in der primären Prävention bei Risikogruppen (z. B. positive Familienanamnese, Übergewicht) sollte über diese kostengünstige Therapieoption nachgedacht werden.
