Kernaussagen
  • Eine große Anzahl von Medikamenten – sowohl Internistika als auch Neuropsychopharmaka – können psychische Auffälligkeiten hervorrufen.

  • Multimorbide und ältere Menschen sind für neuropsychiatrische Störungen aufgrund der Einzelsubstanzen oder als Folge von Interaktionen (Wechselwirkungen) anfälliger.

  • Delirien treten unter Pharmaka häufig maskiert auf, was die Diagnostik erschwert und die Letalität erhöht.

  • Bei substanzinduzierten affektiven Störungen muss das Suizidrisiko berücksichtigt werden.

  • Unerwünschte neuropsychiatrische Nebenwirkungen von Psychopharmaka sind selten, sollten aber wegen der möglichen nachteiligen Konsequenzen frühzeitig identifiziert und therapiert werden.
