Eingriffe am Pankreas gehören zu den technisch schwierigsten Operationen in der Viszeralchirurgie. Minimalinvasive Operationen an der Bauchspeicheldrüse erfordern zudem ein hohes Maß an Erfahrung im Einsatz komplexer laparoskopischer Techniken, spezieller Instrumente und Herangehensweisen. Dennoch werden auch Eingriffe am Pankreas zunehmend minimalinvasiv vorgenommen, da die Vorteile dieser Therapieform, z. B. die Reduktion des postoperativen Schmerzes und die Verkürzung des Krankenhausaufenthalts, auch in der Pankreaschirurgie nachgewiesen werden konnten.
