Intraartikuläre Hyaluronsäure – Biologisch sinnvoller Knorpelschutz oder stachlige IGeL ins Gelenk?

Summary

Hyaluronsäure wird natürlicherweise vom menschlichen Körper selber synthetisiert. Es stellt den Hauptanteil der Synovialflüssigkeit und ist in vielen Geweben anzutreffen, v. a. in der Haut.

Die altersbedingte Zunahme von Arthrosen insbesondere des Kniegelenks hat zu einem wachsenden Einsatz der intraartikulären Injektion von Hyaluronsäure geführt. Dieses Verfahren erscheint auf den ersten Blick biologisch sinnvoll und steht den Naturheilverfahren sehr nahe. Der Beitrag erklärt die biologische Funktionsweise der Hyaluronsäure und beschäftigt sich ausführlich mit der Studienlage der intraartikulären Injektion.
