Zytostatische Chemotherapie: Einflüsse auf das Hämostasesystem
Cytostatic chemotherapy: influences on the hemostatic systemPublication History

Summary
Coagulation disorders in malignancies are due to complex interactions between tumor cells, their products and the organism leading to various degrees of impairment of haemostasis. This can cause either thromboembolism or bleeding. The risk of such complications increases during chemotherapy. The underlying mechanisms influencing the haemostatic system influenced by cytostatic agents are described. Data supporting the use of prophylactic anticoagulation in patients with malignancy and during chemotherapy are inconsistent.
