Abstract

An immunization model for non-fatal rare contagious diseases in non-fixed size communities (developing countries) is proposed. It reveals the demographic and epidemiological data needed in a country to decide upon the best strategy of vaccination. The approach is illustrated with reference to rubella in Kuwait population. Comparisons between rubella vaccination strategies of the U.S.A., U.K. and a recently suggested one for Kuwait are carried out.

Ein Imnnmisationsmodell für nichttödhche, seltene ansteckende Krankheiten in Gemeinden von nicht fixierter Größe (Entwicklungsländer) wird vorgeschlagen. Es zeigt die demographischen und epidemiologischen Daten auf, die erforderlich sind, um die für ein Land beste Impfstrategie festzulegen. Die Methode wird an einem Beispiel von Röteln an der Bevölkerung von Kuwait illustriert. Vergleiche zwischen Impfungsstrategien gegen Röteln in den USA, Großbritannien und einer kürzlich für Kuwait vorgeschlagenen Strategie werden durchgeführt.
