Welcome message and thank you to ESGE Days 2018 reviewers

Dear Colleagues

On behalf of the ESGE Days 2018 scientific committee, it is my pleasure to welcome you to ESGE's first congress.

With a new meeting it is always difficult to gauge how things will go and the extent of the response rate. Therefore, we were extremely happy to that 760 abstract and endoscopic video submissions were received from authors in more than 50 countries.

The scientific committee worked extremely hard within a very short timeframe to evaluate the abstracts. Due to the high quality of the submissions, many sessions were added to the programme in order for the authors to present their work.

Alongside free paper sessions, we have also initiated the ePoster podium sessions where authors present their work at specially designed stations during the breaks.

The positive response to our call for abstracts is a wonderful beginning to our new endeavour and I would like to extend our thanks to all those who submitted their research and to the scientific committee for their dedication.
