Neben der Psychotherapie ist die medikamentöse Behandlung eine weitere erstrangige Therapieoption bei ­Angsterkrankungen, die insbesondere in Abhängigkeit von Schweregrad, ­somatischen bzw. psychischen Komorbiditäten sowie regionaler ­Therapieverfügbarkeit an Bedeutung gewinnt. Obwohl eine leitliniengerechte ­Pharmakotherapie i. d. R. effektiv und sicher durchgeführt ­werden kann, können substanzspezifische Nebenwirkungen eine ­individualisierte Behandlungsplanung notwendig machen.
