Die laparoskopische Chirurgie ist assoziiert mit verschiedenen Vorteilen gegenüber der klassischen offenen Chirurgie, vornehmlich mit einer schnelleren Rekonvaleszenz, kürzeren Hospitalisationsdauer, besseren kosmetischen Ergebnissen, geringeren Wundheilungsstörungen und für bestimmte Erkrankungen auch einer geringeren Morbidität und Mortalität [1], [2]. Während in der Vergangenheit vor allem Cholezystektomien, Appendektomien, Hernienoperationen, Fundoplikationes sowie gut- und zunehmend auch bösartige kolorektale Erkrankungen laparoskopisch operiert wurden, werden inzwischen auch höchst komplexe Operationen im Bereich der Pankreas-, Ösophagus- und Leberchirurgie minimalinvasiv durchgeführt.
