Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae – altbekannt, gut erforscht und hoch aktuell für die Bestandsgesundheit

Die kontagiöse Pleuropneumoniae des Schweines hat als verlustreiche respiratorische Erkrankung für die Schweinehaltung immer noch eine große Bedeutung. Der Erreger Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae (A. pp.) wurde bereits 1957 in Großbritannien isoliert und danach durch die zunehmende Intensivierung und den Handel in der Schweinehaltung weltweit in alle schweineproduzierenden Länder verbreitet [10], [14] . Da sich nach experimenteller Infektion unterschiedliche Schweregrade der Erkrankung sehr gut reproduzieren lassen und zu den Erreger-Wirt-Interaktionen bereits sehr viel bekannt ist, wird A. pp. in der Forschung gerne als Modellorganismus genutzt. Mit der Fülle der im Experiment erhobenen Daten seit der Entdeckung des Erregers konnten Krankheitspathogenese und bakterielle Mechanismen aufgeschlüsselt werden, doch nach Lösungen für die Praxis wird weiter gesucht.
