Einleitung

Die Psoriasis ist nach dem atopischen Ekzem die häufigste chronisch-entzündliche Dermatose. Die klinische Präsentation ist, insbesondere bei Manifestation im Kindesalter, mannigfaltig. Da bei Kindern die Symptome milder ausgeprägt sein können und oft weniger typisch sind als bei Erwachsenen, wird die Diagnose häufig spät gestellt. Vor allem die schwere Psoriasis wird heute als Hautmanifestation einer systemischen Entzündungsreaktion mit assoziierten internistischen Komorbiditäten und nicht vernachlässigbaren psychischen Auswirkungen betrachtet. Die Therapie der kindlichen Psoriasis muss, unter anderem wegen altersabhängiger pharmakologischer Besonderheiten, überlegt gewählt werden.
