    Jiun-Nong Lin et al. Risk of infection following colonoscopy and sigmoidoscopy in symptomatic patients

    A nationwide Asian retrospective study including 225 000 individuals from a national database shows that symptomatic patients who underwent colonoscopy or sigmoidoscopy had a 9.38-fold risk of infection compared with a control group. A nomogram is provided to assist clinicians in evaluating the risk of infection after colonoscopy and sigmoidoscopy.
