This issue of seminars in hearing presents a collection of research papers emerging from the Seventh Malaysian Audiology Scientific Conference (MASCO) 2025, held on May 17 to 18, 2025, in Penang, Malaysia. Under the theme “Building Strong Foundations: The Evolution of Evidence-Based Practice in Audiology,” the conference brought together 111 audiologists from clinical, academic, and industry settings, alongside 26 undergraduate and postgraduate students from Malaysia's leading audiology programs. This biennial gathering, organized in collaboration with the Malaysian National Society of Audiology (MANSA), the Ministry of Health Malaysia's Audiology Services, and University Sains Malaysia, served as a vital platform for advancing evidence-based approaches in audiology practice.

The papers featured in this issue reflect the dynamic and growing capacity of the Malaysian audiology community, showcasing innovative research spanning audiovestibular assessment, pediatric audiology, cochlear implants, vestibular rehabilitation, and outcome measurement tools. From preliminary investigations into novel assessment techniques to validation studies of culturally adapted instruments, these contributions demonstrate the profession's commitment to translating research into meaningful clinical applications. As Malaysian audiology continues to evolve, this collection serves as both a testament to current achievements and a foundation for future advancements in evidence-based practice across the Asia-Pacific region.
