Exceptional course of a sacrococcygeal chordoma

Summary

Observation of a sacrococcygeal chordoma with exceptional long survival of now 17 years after incomplete surgery with following additional resection and adjuvant radiotherapy. Local recurrence occurred after more than 10 years, metastases after 15 years.

Zusammenfassung

Beobachtung eines sacrococcygealen Chordoms, das nach intraläsionaler Resektion mit Nachresektion im Gesunden und adjuvanter Strahlentherapie eine ungewöhnlich lange Überlebenszeit von bislang 17 Jahren erreichte. Das Rezidiv trat nach mehr als 10 Jahren, Metastasen erst nach 15 Jahren auf.
