Anesthetic Considerations for Large-Volume Liposuction and Body-Contouring Surgery

ABSTRACT

Patients of all ages and with most preexisting medical conditions can be safely anesthetized for large-volume liposuction and body-contouring procedures. In this article we describe anesthesia recommendations and techniques that have allowed us to safely treat more than 1500 patients over a 61/2-year period in the private office setting. The specifics are used as guidelines in maintaining a high level of patient safety and satisfaction.
